In 1972, Kim Phuc Phan Thai was only 9 years old when she felt the burning sensation of napalm. She ran through the streets naked, and the photo was captured creating a Vietnam War picture that would be forever remembered.
Kim Phuc Phan Thai, is now 46 and she resides in Canada.
Close to sixty-five percent of Kim Thai’s body was burned.
Kim Phuc Phan says her face was untouched by the napalm, but the third degree burns sheared the skin from her back and left arm, leaving permanent scars and recurring pain.
Kim says she spent 14 months in a burn unit and underwent 17 operations.
