Amid pressure, Mayumi Heene, the mother of Falcon Heene (“Ballon Boy”) admits to authorities that the hot air balloon stunt was all a hoax. Also known as a sick publicity stunt gone bad.

In the affidavit, it says “Mayumi described that she and Richard Heene devised this hoax approximately two weeks earlier . Mayumi and Richard had instructed their three children to lie to authorities as well as the media regarding this hoax.”

Had their son, balloon boy, not had a slip of tongue, they may have gotten away with it. Is fame, really worth all this?
